About me

Wia: All my life I have the ambition to help the people in third world countries. That’s why I started volunteering for Biblionef Nederland since 2010. I wanted to help children in Ghana by stimulate reading, so they can get a better future. I want to create the possibility for these children to read good and beautiful books in their own environment. Therefore I’ve visited Ghana and Kenya for several times to set up libraries and to advice teachers about book presentations and reading promotion.

My passion

It is my passion to stimulate (pre) reading with children. Because the more you read, the more you can grow. In daily live I work as a consultant for the regional library. My main job is to ensure that children learn to read, facilitate schools in reading and stimulate parents to read out to there children.
